About Sclera Contact Lenses

Is the product price for one pair or for one single lens?

All prices and products shown on this site are for 2 lenses (one pair)

 

Does your product come with a lens case and solution?

Along with the lens vial storage solution we also supply a free lens case with all our sclera lenses. If you require additional solution for cleaning in the future, sterile saline contact lens solution can be easily purchased from any chemist.

 

What are your contacts made from? Are they safe to wear?

Our lenses are made from polymacon and water. The percentage of water content is usually 38%. Sclera lenses use medical grade FDA approved materials manufactured in a sterile environment. Find out more about our lenses here. There are no recorded cases of allergic reactions to polymacon, however, precaution is always needed so please read our Wear & Care guide for more information.

Why is there an expiry date?

Our contact lenses are all a polymer plastic and so will not themselves expire. However, once opened and  exposed to the air they should not be kept for longer than 1 year. This is due both to slow dehydration of the polymer and cleanliness.

 

Different products will come with or without an expiry listed:

1. Glass vials: no expiration required prior to opening. ​

2. Plastic sheath with aluminium lid: ensure that the contact is removed from the sheath and stored in fresh contact lens fluid before the expiry date. This is to avoid any long term impacts of the aluminium oxide lid on the saline bath. 

Can I buy sclera contact lenses to match my prescription?

No. We do not sell contact lenses (A lens is by definition, an optical element which converges or diverges light.) we are unable to supply devices which alter vision to a specific prescription, in the same way a prescription is required for vision altering glasses, but not sunglasses. These are sclera contacts, though we sometimes use the name "contact lenses" simply due to colloqial recognition. However NONE of our designs refract light and alter vision as lenses do, or are medical devices with a PWR lens rating, they are strictly a fashion accessory and should only be used as such.

What do I need to order?

The devices sold on this site are not classed as contact lenses (follow link for explanation). A lens is by definition an optical element which converges or diverges light through refraction. Our devices do not alter vision in this way and so are not considered contact lenses and as such do not require a prescription. This can be compared to the reason why vision altering glasses legally require a prescription from an optometrist, but non vision altering fancy dress glasses or sunglasses do not. We sometimes describe the devices as “contact lenses” purely for marketing purposes and search engine optimisation reasons because some people don't know the difference between "contacts" and "contact lenses".

How much does the shipping cost?

Shipping cost varies based on individual factors around your location and order. Please proceed to checkout to determine the shipping options and costs for your address.

Can I trust your company?

ScleraContacts.com were the very first company in the UK to sell Sclera contact lenses in pairs not on a individual “made to order” basis. Unlike many other companies, our products are manufactured under our strict guidelines and specific specifications in sterile conditions. Our products are packaged in our own high quality branded packaging rather than a generic manufacturers box.

Is custom tax included in the price?

Recipients are responsible for any custom tax which may be due in some countries.

Placing an Order

I was not able to complete my transaction, please help?

There are several reasons your transaction may not go through: 

  • Bank Denied (e.g. insufficient funds). Please contact your bank for specifics.

  • Invalid card details (e.g. card holder name, card number, expiry date & security code). Please try again and carefully check your details.

  • Page Loading Error - Slow internet connection during transaction, the transaction process has timed out. Please try again or find a faster internet connection.

  • Device or web browser being used has compatibility issues with the payment system. Please use an alternative device or web browser.

I don’t have a credit card or PayPal account. Can I send cash?

Please contact us. This is possible, but a tracking number will be required.

About Shipping Orders

​I haven’t received a confirmation e-mail from you. Have you received my order?

If your submitted an order and were directed to our “order success” page, then yes, we definitely have your order and it is being processed! You should check your e-mail address associated with PayPal.

How long will my order take to be processed for dispatch?

All orders are shipped within 1 full working day and you will be sent a dispatch notice. If for any reason your order is delayed then we will contact you immediately.

My payment was made by echeck. Can you please let me know when my order will be processed and shipped?

Usually clearance of echeck takes up to 10 days. We can process your order only after clearance is completed. So, please be patient. The processing days might vary from 1 to 3, and shipping update will depend on the shipping method you have used for your order.

 

 

Can I track my order?

Yes. This will be provided via PayPal once the payment is cleared and package has been dispatched. Free shipping does not include tracking.

 

It’s been 14 working days (20 calendar days) and I have not yet received anything from you, what is going on?

When will you restock / how often you do restock?

I’m afraid we cannot supply exact times for restocking of products. You can sign up on product pages for stock alerts on our out of stock products.

 

 

I think my product is defective, what should I do?

Will you drop ship for me?

Drop shipping is available. Discounts will vary based on the average number of orders placed by your company per month. Please contact us to discuss.

 

 

I wrote to you but you have not responded, what is going on?

It is possible that an invalid email address was supplied and we were unable to contact you.

Please allow us at least 2 to 3 business days to respond to your message.

Please also check your junk and other e-mail folders to check that it has not been diverted to one of those.
